In February 1998 I started at Academic Search as Regional Manager Malmö-Gothenburg. If someone had told me then that I would still be in the company 25 years later, I would have just laughed and shook my head. But now it’s a reality and I’m extremely happy about it. It has been a hugely fun and developing journey to be a part of. Academic Search started in 1991 and when I started in 1998 we had about 8 employees and a turnover of about SEK 8m with a focus on recruiting young academics. Today, we have close to 40 employees and a turnover of SEK 126 million. We have constantly developed our business and our processes and today our main focus is the recruitment and hiring of people in management, managers and experienced specialists. We always aim to become a long-term partner to our customers and there are companies that we have worked with for more than 25 years. So much fun with gaining such trust and getting to know customers deeply!

Why has it been 25 years for me at Academic Search?

There are several reasons. I think this industry is extremely fun to work in and Academic Search is a very professional company with incredibly fine and healthy values where we almost beat ourselves up to find the candidates who best match each role with our clients. When I see all the fine companies with strong brands that we work with, you sometimes have to pinch yourself in the arm. We have a client list that we can be extremely proud of and this in turn helps us attract the best candidates. Another thing is the entrepreneurial spirit found in Academic Search, which encourages initiative and development to a high extent. The most important reason, however, is all the wonderful and talented colleagues I have had the honor of working with over the years. The fact that we have continuously managed to attract such incredibly dedicated, competent and likeable people, who all contribute to the spread of knowledge and a great commitment both to us and to our clients and candidates, is absolutely fantastic!

I feel lucky, that after 25 years I have a job that I still find so much fun.
