NP Innovation Norway AS – Service Technician

What you will do

Are you looking at the state of the world and wishing you could make a meaningful impact? Then this could be the opportunity for you. At NP Innovation, we develop next-generation aquaculture solutions.

You’ll be working directly with water treatment systems used in aquaculture environments, where performance, uptime, and water quality are critical.

This is not a “swap parts and leave” role. Small improvements in performance can have significant biological and operational impact!  You will be expected to understand system behaviour, identify root causes of issues, and ensure long-term operational stability.

Foremost, you will build relationships and trust for NP Innovation and our solutions. You will be our customers’ trusted advisor who is there to ensure the solutions deliver, to prevent issues – and if problems arise, you are the one to help fix it. This can mean:

  • Install and commission systems including filtration units and supporting process equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical/control issues in operating environments.
  • Diagnose problems related to flow, pressure, clogging, wear, or system imbalance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance based on system condition, not just checklists.
  • Support customers in optimizing system performance. Typical systems and components are for example: Mechanical filtration systems, biofilters and degassers etc.

Who we think you are

You likely already have a solid technical foundation and enjoy understanding how systems behave in real-world conditions. We think that you:

  • Are a social, curious person eager to learn and develop with a true joy in providing service and support. You are a hands-on trouble-shooter who does not leave a job unfinished. You always look for ways to work smarter and happily speak your mind if you see improvement potential.
  • Have 2+ years of experience in a technical service or field engineering role, preferably from aquaculture and water treatment from fish farming/land-based solutions, but you can also have worked with water treatment within industry, municipality, oil or even the food and beverage production or similar.
  • Have a background in mechanical, process, or electro-mechanical systems and are comfortable reading technical drawings, P&IDs, or system layouts.
  • Can systematically troubleshoot issues (not just treat symptoms) and understand basic electrical systems and controls.
  • Are comfortable working independently in field environments.
  • Since the job requires a lot of travel you have a driver’s license and enjoy some alone-time in the car.

What you’ll get

A technically engaging role where you with a great degree of independence and mandate will work with real systems under real conditions in a team that values technical competence, ownership, and practical problem-solving. You will have opportunities to deepen your expertise over time, competitive compensation and foremost be part of a dedicated, enthusiastic team that values people, ideas and the ambition to push beyond limits.
