Trelleborg – Group Purchasing Excellence Manager

Do you want to combine strategic purchasing with shaping a world-class function? Are you excited by digitalization, AI, and driving structured ways of working across a global organization? If so, this could be the role for you.

About the role
As Group Purchasing Excellence Manager, you will be a key member of Trelleborg’s global Group Excellence team. This unique role primarily focuses on driving and developing Purchasing Excellence across the organization – including tools, processes, training, and digital capabilities such as AI-enabled solutions. In addition, you will also work operationally with strategic purchasing, being responsible for Indirect Materials and Services, mainly within renewable energy and partly within freight and logistics. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify needs, capture synergies, and support local units.

The role offers a flexible hybrid setup, typically working from home one day per week with flexibility, and includes some national and international travel.

The position is based at Trelleborg’s headquarters in Trelleborg, Sweden and reports to the Vice President, Group Excellence & Sustainability.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring that relevant Purchasing Excellence tools and templates exist and are actively used across the organization.
  • Liaising with purchasing stakeholders to identify focus areas and continuously develop the Purchasing Excellence toolbox.
  • Owning Purchasing Excellence training programs and development of new topics and methodologies.
  • Owning the eSourcing tool and driving its development and implementation.
  • Defining and driving the next steps in Trelleborg’s digital sourcing journey.
  • Supporting the implementation of a Sustainable Sourcing framework.
  • Leading projects related to Purchasing Excellence and supporting local units in applying tools and processes when needed.
  • Driving the exploration and deployment of AI-enabled capabilities to optimize sourcing, contracting, and supplier management.
  • Driving Purchasing Excellence initiatives across the organization (approximately 80% of the role), alongside holding purchasing responsibility for selected indirect categories, including supplier strategy, sourcing initiatives, and contract negotiations (approximately 20%)

Who you are

You are a driven and curious professional with strong analytical ability and a structured mindset. You enjoy working with processes, methodology, and continuous improvement – and you know how to turn ideas into practical results.

You are communicative, collaborative, and comfortable working cross-functionally in an international environment. You quickly build understanding in new areas and use that knowledge to create impact. We value your learning ability and mindset just as much as prior category experience.

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Purchasing Excellence.
  • Ability to rapidly build knowledge in new areas, particularly within renewable energy.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally.
  • Relevant university degree (e.g. Business, Engineering, Supply Chain).
  • Fluent in English and Swedish, written and spoken.

What we offer

At Trelleborg, you will find:

  • A global, innovative environment where your ideas and contributions matter.
  • Engaged colleagues and strong collaboration across functions and countries.
  • Early responsibility and strong opportunities for long-term career development.
  • A flexible, performance-driven culture built on trust.
  • A key role in shaping Trelleborg’s sustainable and digital purchasing future.
