Getinge – Senior Group Accountant

As Senior Group Accountant, you take an operational role in the finance department, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting in compliance with relevant laws and standards. You lead the month-end and year-end closings and serve as a trusted advisor on financial matters across the organization. The role requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and includes contributing to the improvement of financial processes and controls. In this role, you will report to Head of Group Accounting and Reporting.

Key responsibilities

•  Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings according to set deadlines.

• Ensure accurate application of IFRS standards; interpret and implement new IFRS requirements and act as the internal go-to expert

• Prepare annual financial statements and coordinate with external auditors

•  Manage the group’s cash flow

•  Drive continuous improvement of accounting routines and processes

•  Provide hands-on support to finance team members across the organization, share knowledge, offer guidance, and contribute to continuous development and collaboration.

Qualifications

Education: Academic degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Experience & skills:
 

• 7+ years of qualified experience in accounting or financial reporting

• Solid expertise in consolidated financial statements and group accounting

• Extensive experience in closing procedures and accounting principles.

• Proven track record in accounting and reporting for a listed company, with strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and public disclosure requirements

• Previous experience working in a global and cross-functional environment is highly desirable

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

• Highly structured and thorough in your approach, with a strong ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver accurate results under pressure and tight deadlines

• Able to think strategically while remaining hands-on and operational

• Self-motivated and solution-oriented, with a proactive approach to challenges

• Thrives in a dynamic, fast-changing, and varied work environment

•  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization — including senior leadership, external stakeholders, and cross-functional team.
