As a member of the Swedish Management Team and a close partner to the Managing Director, you will work closely with business leaders to strengthen organisational effectiveness, develop people and align HR priorities with business objectives. The role combines operational leadership with a strategic perspective, contributing to both day-to-day business needs and long-term organisational development.

The role

As HR Director, you will be responsible for ensuring a well-functioning HR organisation with clear processes, responsibilities and effective support for managers and employees. You will lead and develop the local HR team, consisting of HR Business Partners and payroll, while working closely with the Swedish Management Team and international HR stakeholders. Your responsibilities cover the full HR agenda, including workforce planning, talent management, organisational development, employee relations and Swedish employment law.

A key part of the assignment will be to establish stability and consistency while developing a more proactive, business-oriented HR function. This includes supporting organisational change, strengthening HR processes and making better use of people data to provide insights that support business decisions and long-term performance.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop the Swedish HR team, ensuring effective HR delivery and support to managers and employees.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the Managing Director and Management Team on people, leadership and organisational matters.
  • Take overall responsibility for HR policies, processes and operations in Sweden, ensuring compliance with Swedish employment law, collective agreements and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead workforce planning, organisational development and change management, including employee relations and union dialogue.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, internal mobility, performance management, succession planning and learning and development.
  • Develop leadership capabilities, employee engagement and a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits, payroll, HR systems and HR administration, ensuring quality, efficiency and cost control.
  • Strengthen HR reporting, workforce analytics and the use of people data to support business decisions.
  • Work closely with Group HR to implement global HR initiatives and adapt policies and processes to local business needs.

Your background

We are looking for an experienced HR leader with a strong business understanding and a genuine interest in developing people and organisations. You are confident in your professional judgement, comfortable working closely with senior management and able to balance business priorities with the needs of employees. With a structured and pragmatic approach, you create clarity, build trust and navigate complex situations with confidence. You enjoy developing your team, value open communication and contribute with both an analytical perspective and a hands-on mindset.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • Broad HR expertise, covering both business partnering and HR operations.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop an HR function in Sweden.
  • Knowledge of Swedish employment law, collective agreements and union relations.
  • A background in managing organisational change
  • The ability to work closely with senior management and align HR priorities with business objectives.
  • A good understanding of HR data, reporting and KPIs to support business decisions.
  • Familiarity with international organisations and working across multiple stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with Workday is considered an advantage.
